Your involvement in this internship will encompass various engineering tasks related to CO2 capturing and utilization, as well as Biogas processing, enabling you to apply your theoretical knowledge from school into practice. This is what you’re going to do
As a Process Engineering intern, you will work under the supervision of Senior Engineers on an assigned project related to your study. The responsibilities may vary based on the project, but here are some common tasks and responsibilities associated with the role next to your main assignment:
- Provide assistance to Senior Process Engineers and Project Managers
- Offer support on projects, including data collection, feasibility studies, bidding phase preparation, and assigned project management tasks
- Create and maintain accurate documentation such as process flow diagrams, process datasheets, process calculations, P&IDs, etc.
- Conduct process simulations
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and provide input to other discipline engineers such as mechanical, piping, electrical & instrumentation
- Collect and analyze data related to existing operating CO2 capture units, equipment performance, and product quality
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives
- Stay informed about advancements in process engineering topics related to sustainability and relevant technologies to stay competitive and contribute to innovation
What we are asking
- 3rd year Bachelor’s or 2nd year Master’s degree student in process/chemical or (fluid) mechanical engineering
- Previous experience or familiarity with CO2 capture and/or biogas processing is an advantage
- Experience in setting up and running simulations in either ProMax, Aspen Hysys, Aspen Plus, gPROMS, etc. is a plus
- Hands-on mentality with a proactive and practical approach
- Demonstrated teamwork skills and a collaborative mindset
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and written English; knowing Dutch language is an advantage
- Good interpersonal skills to interface within the team and with other stakeholders
